Terms of Service

These are the rules for using OurVid. We've kept them as short and human as a legal document allows.

Last updated: 5 July 2026

1. What OurVid is

OurVid (ourvid.co) is a private, invite-only video sharing service. Hosts create an event, upload videos, and personally approve each guest; approved guests can stream — but not download — those videos. These terms are a contract between you and OurVid ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the service you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy.

2. Your account

  • You must be at least 18 to create a host account, and the details you give us must be accurate.
  • You're responsible for keeping your password safe and for activity on your account. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has access.
  • Guest access is personal: credentials are issued to a named person and limited to three devices. Sharing credentials to give unapproved people access isn't allowed.

3. Your content stays yours

You keep all rights to the videos you upload. You grant us only the limited licence we need to operate the service — storing, encoding and streaming your videos to the guests you approve, and generating things like thumbnails. We don't use your videos for marketing, training, or anything else, and the licence ends when your content is deleted.

In return, you promise you have the right to share what you upload — for example that you own the footage or have your videographer's permission, and that the people featured would not object to it being shared with your approved guests.

4. Fair use

You agree not to use OurVid to:

  • upload content that is unlawful, infringes someone else's rights, or depicts anyone in an intimate context without their consent;
  • attempt to download, capture or redistribute videos, or circumvent the device limits, signed links or other privacy protections;
  • probe, disrupt or overload the service, or access other people's events without approval.

We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules. Where the breach involves unlawful content we may also be required to notify authorities.

5. Plans, payment and refunds

  • Free plan — one video and up to three approved guests per event, free of charge.
  • Event upgrade — a one-time payment per event (£29 in the UK, $39 in the US — the exact price is always shown at checkout) unlocks unlimited videos and approved guests for that event. It is not a subscription; there is nothing to cancel and no recurring charge.
  • Payments are processed securely by Stripe in your local currency where supported. Prices include VAT where applicable.
  • 14-day money-back guarantee — if you're not happy with the upgrade for any reason, email support@ourvid.co within 14 days of payment and we'll refund it in full. This sits alongside, and does not reduce, your statutory rights as a consumer.

6. The service

We work hard to keep OurVid fast, private and available — especially around your event — but no online service can promise 100% uptime, and we may update or improve features over time. Signed playback links expire and are refreshed automatically; the privacy protections described on our site reflect how the service is built today.

OurVid is a sharing service, not an archive: please keep your own original copies of your videos. If we ever decide to discontinue the service we'll give account holders at least 60 days' notice so you can make arrangements.

7. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law (such as for fraud, or death or personal injury caused by negligence), or your statutory rights as a consumer. Beyond that, we're responsible for foreseeable loss caused by our breach of these terms, up to the amount you've paid us for the event concerned; we aren't responsible for losses arising from content uploaded by users, from guests you chose to approve, or from events outside our reasonable control.

8. Ending things

You can stop using OurVid and ask us to delete your account and content at any time via support@ourvid.co. We can suspend or terminate accounts that materially breach these terms; where practical we'll warn you first.

9. The legal bits

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes belong to the courts of England and Wales — though if you live elsewhere in the UK or EU you keep any protections and court rights your local law gives you. If we change these terms in a way that matters we'll update this page and email account holders before the change takes effect.

Questions about any of this? Email support@ourvid.co — a human reads every message.
